pst pst..

There's a dog whisperer in Taiwan! He brings his golden retrievers out to the Taipei 101 area and somehow, he's able to get the doggies to just lay on the ground and not move for a really long time! He also collects money from people walking by. The hubby wants to produce a Taiwanese Dog Whisperer show but instead of Cesar, he would be named Ceezah.

I ate this grain stick and it made me poo. So I called it the poopoo stick. It looks like poo too.

everything's gonna be alright.

I'm heading back to Man Jose this Saturday and I can't wait to see my pup Shady! I've been thinking about the move back to the motherland, shady flying in cargo, job search, home renovation, etc. and it's starting to stress me out. I was browsing through ffffound and landed on the photo above. I'm trying to "feel" less and just deal. Everything is going to be alright.

waaaaaaa-h

The new Bruce Lee is Donnie Yen. We watched "Legend of the Fist: Return of Chen Zhen" last night and I loved it. Check out the trailer. I especially love it when he makes the Bruce Lee sounds (0:55).

show me your teeth

This painting reminded me of Lady GaGa's "teeth". It was hanging on the wall of a cute coffee shop. Can you find Hammy in the second photo?

i want.

We haven't even started our home renovation yet and I'm already thinking home furnishings. I'm not a coffee addict and I know our future home will not be space friendly, but I really like this vintage looking espresso machine. Maybe for our future future home.

not singing in the rain

I think rainy season has begun in Taipei. I was drenched just standing there, waiting for the light to turn green. Not sure if I'm looking forward to this permanent humidity. I'm constantly smelling like scalp. We had dinner with my ex-coworker from ICRT and her hubby tonight. We found out that he graduated from Arcadia high and UCLA just like my hubby. Hope they didn't smell scalp.

Happy Mooncake Day!

Yang Ming Shan
Today was Mid-Autumn Festival holiday in Taiwan. We took my grandma to Yang Ming Shan for lunch and it was the most green I've seen since I've been back. I ate so many mooncakes - my face looks just like the moon now.

The Hammy's...

are no longer homeless!! Papa Hammy was nice enough to let us renovate an old, empty property of his - and so, we're going to do it! We checked out the location and since it has been empty for so long, it was quite disgusting. Here's our new home pre-makeover:

back patio

kitchen

bathroom

front patio

Happy renovating, Hammys'.

typhoon, typhoon go away

There's a typhoon going on in Taipei today, but the hubby and I still went out to check out an apartment amid the blazing winds. We trailed over to Taipei 101 area for a movie afterward and I almost got blown away. We didn't like the apartment or the movie. I love you George, but your movie "The American" sucked. The only positive thing about today was my purchase below - an I love Macaroons recipe book. I cannot wait to make some macaroons! It may take me awhile to figure out the ingredients/steps though because the book is in Chinese.

Memories..

I went to have lunch with my high school alumni director today and returning to Taipei American School sure brought back some memories! I can't believe it's been 13 years since I've graduated. Where did all the time go?! Some major renovations have been made but some things have stayed the same - like the lunch ladies and the mint green food tray! I don't think I ever want to be a high schooler again, but if I did, I would join the Glee club.

Homeless....

I went apartment hunting with Momma Hammy today. Instead of finding an apartment, I found a mango shaved ice instead. Sigh..I have a feeling the hubby and I are going to be homeless for awhile.

Sweatin' it off...

I finally went to the gym with the hubby tonight after [his] work. Since I did not have any workout clothes or shoes, I opted for the sauna instead. Somehow, I think as long as I sweat, it is considered a workout. I hope I shaved off some calories from my spaghetti lunch. I am in desperate need of a Yoga class.

Hello, Panda.

Look what I found at the Costco in Taipei today:

A ginormous box of Hello Pandas. Everything jumbo size appeals to me. While crossing the street to get to Costco, we saw a strange crosswalk light:

WTF. How are we supposed to see the light when it is facing the pole? I'm going to have to tell the Taipei city mayor about this. After Costco, we traveled to a famous Sushi place nearby and had this for dinner:

It was a funtastic Sunday.

Foot Fetish

What I love about Taipei is how convenient and cheap everything is. I have a thing for foot massages and lucky for me, they are everywhere AND they are cheap! It's a perfect way to end the night after a long day of walking and eating ... and watching Resident Evil 3 in 3D with my cousin and his wife.

Grandpa Hammy

My grandpa enjoying some sushi at the Taipei 101 food court. I found it amusing for some reason.

i miss Shady

We passed by a huge Tod's ad a few days ago and it reminded us of Shady. At the same time we were taking a photo, a lady walked in with a yorkie and said that her yorkie looked just like the one in the ad. It so did not. Shady looked a lot more like it!

Fat Hammy

I haven't been very good about posting since my return to Taipei. I've been too busy eating. Hammy is a true ham. Me eating a peking duck burrito at a restaurant in the Westin Hotel. MmmMmm good...

Made in Taiwan...

It's been awhile since I last posted...I feel like a stranger! After the BFF's wedding, I managed to pack quickly and jet back to my motherland. 'Twas great to reunite with the hubby, but definitely takes some time to get used to. I've been back for 4 days, but it feels like I've done so much already. So far, I have:

1) Looked for apartments with the hubby - my main purpose of this trip. The apartments here are so tiny and expensive. They are too small, even for Shady.

2) Watched Pirahna 3D. It was ridiculously hilarious. LOTS of boobies and blood. Rotten Tomatoes gave it 75% - I highly recommend it.

3) Ate so much one night that my stomach got upset and decided to diarrhea on me. I was in so much pain and seriously almost shat in my pants. The hubby had to drive me to my dad's office so that I could release all the crap I ate.

4) Started a food blog for all the food I ate, and will eat in Taiwan. The hubby will be a guest blogger when he wants to be.

5) Encountered a gecko(?) at my parent's place. Apparently, they eat mosquitoes so we left him alone. Somewhat disturbing.
