quote...

by joseph campbell:

"We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us."

I'm usually not a quote person but I'm feeling this one. What a cheeze ball I've become.

crazies...

My friend gave me an invitation to Loreal's annual corporate discount event so I invited a yoga buddy to join me. We waited in line for almost 2 hours to get in and waited another 30 minutes to get out. I ended buying only a few lip glosses and Shu Uemura eye shadow that I will probably never use. The other ladies who attended however, probably bought a whole years worth of beauty products. Women are crazy.

thinking cap...

I'm thinking of starting an online curated shop selling cute, inexpensive stuff from Taipei. Ideas are floating around in my head.. what to sell, theme, shop name, price points...lots of things going on in my pea brain. I'm not sure if I will be successful, but oh well. I want to give it a try! Any ideas and thoughts, please let me know! Would you buy these bags? At what price?

wedding part deux

As previously blogged, the BFF and her hubby are back in town for their wedding banquet. Weddings in Taipei are a little bit different than ones in the states. I've gone to quite a few here so I know what to expect. The bff and her hubby however, had no idea. They walked into the banquet room (around 500 peope) through dry ice; there was a dynamic food show that ended with an explosion; it was a 12 course meal; and the president of Taiwan (Mr. Ma) was a guest. He happened to be the bff's parents' high school and college classmates. Talk about a high profile wedding! Of course, we had tons of fun - even if we were seated at the end of the ginormous banquet hall. Photos were difficult to take but I managed to shoot a few.

mou mou

I want a pair of these fuzzy eskimo mous - an alternative to the over saturated UGGS! It's getting colder here in Taipei and I walk so much that I think these would be perfect! A Christmas present for myself, no?

lazy sunday

I don't know why but I'm exhausted and I just need a break from dealing with crap. It feels like when one thing is checked off my to-do list, another 5 things appear. And I barely had time to figure out what the hell I'm going to do with my jobless life! Or maybe I'm just putting it off because I have no idea - but I promise myself I'll have something figured out by (early) 2011. Yikes - that's just around the corner!

simple life

We attended the "Urban Simple Life Festival" in Taipei with my mom today. It reminded me of one of those Renegade Craft Fairs in the states. I was amazed at how many people showed up - the line to enter was about two blocks long! Aside from the overcrowding, it was actually really fun! Shady even tagged along and had a good time with other furry friends she met there.
